Volunteer

Fancy lending a hand? We'd love to have you

LifeCafe, the shop, and pretty much everything else at the centre is run by volunteers. Some are retired and wanted something to get them out of the house. Some are students picking up experience. A few just wandered in for a coffee and never left.

You don’t need any experience and we don’t expect you to commit to anything massive — even a couple of hours a week is a huge help. We’ll train you up and there’s always someone around to ask if you’re not sure about something.

Why Volunteer With Us?

Good company

Most of our volunteers say the best bit is the people. There's always someone to have a brew and a chat with.

Great for your CV

If you're a student or getting back into work, you'll pick up real skills and we're happy to give references.

Fits around you

Some people do a full day, some do a couple of hours. We'll work around your schedule.

We'll show you the ropes

Never worked a till or made a coffee? Doesn't matter. Everyone starts somewhere and we'll train you up.

It feels good

There's something about helping out that just makes your week better. Our volunteers tell us that all the time.
